Welcome to the home of the Basingstoke Under 11’s Rugby Team
Basingstoke RFC is a fantastic place for any boys or girls to start playing rugby. It is a great way to get your children running around and keeping fit and healthy, whilst having lots of FUN with a structured program of contact games that will keep them excited but also start to build their core rugby skills. It is also about creating an environment where the children start to develop the key values that rugby provides - TEAMWORK, RESPECT, ENJOYMENT, DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP.
As a group of qualified England RFU volunteer coaches, we are committed to giving your children a great rugby experience and hopefully creating an exciting pathway for our rugby stars of the future. We meet on Sunday mornings from 10 am until 11.30 am for general training. We have a squad of 30 players, a great mix of talentedboys and girls.
This season is very special for us as it is likely the last season we are playing as a mixed boys and girls. Most of these children have been playing together since they were five years old. We would like to celebrate this by going on a tour to North Devon. This will be our first and only tour together as one mixed team. Basingstoke U11’s Leave Nobody Behind 2024 tour means all players join our tour and we have been busy bees, raising money to ensure that we can cover for our families with financial difficulties.
We are a very inclusive club and are welcoming new players with any level of ability all year long. Join us for a trial session on our lovely rugby pitch, the two first sessions are free.
As a club, we are striving to make rugby accessible to everyone. We know that buying a new kit for players can be costly, so we have a great boot box and clothes rail for exchanging kits next to our shop usually open on Wednesday evenings and Sundays.
All training is held at Down Grange, home to Basingstoke RFC. Please keep an eye on the weather - Rugby is played outside throughout the year and cold/wet weather, as well as glorious hot sunny days, are to be expected, so please bring appropriate clothing for the conditions as well as plenty of water.
All that is required is a water bottle and a smile! We are a very friendly bunch so please don't hesitate to contact us for any further information.
