Dear Team Captains,
Apologies for the short delay in sending you out the Summer Touch fixtures list, but we had one late entry which means we now have 11 teams in the competition. The fixture list has been amended appropriately and is now attached. Please note that the competition will now finish on Monday 5th August and will culminate in a BBQ and awards presentation on the same evening.
Every team will play 10 games each and points will be awarded for any wins and draws - league standings will then be posted/uploaded to the BRFC website every week and forwarded by e-mail to you as team captains, which you can share with members of your team. The first set of games to play on Monday 24th June replicates the games to be played on Monday 1st July, and will not count towards any league points - this follows the same structure as last year and gives other teams which have not had an opportunity to train together yet to have a practice match without the pressure of competition. Please remember and remind all your team members that this is a SOCIAL COMPETITION and the emphasis is on having fun for all levels of playing ability.
Your assistance is appreciated in respect of refereeing duties which are listed against each game, and for which you are expected to provide at least one individual from your team who can fulfil these duties - even if your team are not playing till later in the evening, please ensure that one member of your team arrives earlier if listed to referee, otherwise games can be delayed and this will cause programming issues within the fixture list.
Please ensure your nominated referees and team members have all been provided with a copy of the BRFC Summer Touch Rules - attached. A referees briefing will be held at 18:30 on Monday 24th June at BRFC prior to the first set of games played. Any subsequent briefings will be held as required.
Our gratitude and thanks also goes out to our very kind sponsors of this years competition - Perfect Paving.
See you on the touchlines !
