Dear All,

It's that time of the year again and with summer-time just around the corner and following on from last years very successful competition, Basingstoke RFC would like to invite teams from other clubs, businesses and organisations across the county to participate in its 2019 Summer Rugby Touch League. BRFC is particularly keen on supporting any Health & Wellbeing programmes in Hampshire. The League begins on Monday 24th of June and it will run every Monday evening at Basingstoke RFC until August 12th.

We are hoping to run both mixed and mens/ladies teams, although the exact structure will depend upon the number of teams that enter and so cannot be confirmed at this stage. Games will be played from 7:00pm onwards at Basingstoke RFC, Down Grange.

Team entry is £10 per person or £100 per team and made up of a max of 14 players per team. This consists of 8 weeks of Touch Rugby culminating in a free barbecue and awards evening on the last week for all participants.

Anybody can play Touch Rugby, no matter what your level of fitness or whether you have any previous experience. Touch Rugby is 6 a side game but you can roll substitutes constantly throughout your 25-minute match. For the mixed teams, a minimum of two from each gender must be on the pitch at any one time. Minimum age of players for this competition only is from 16 years old. Dispensation will be allowed for any players going into U16's rugby this September to register a team.

If there are any individual players looking to play we will also be putting together ‘BaaBaa’ Teams. Likewise, if any teams are looking for extra players we can recommend players to you.

This years kind sponsor of the event is Perfect Paving based in Basingstoke Hampshire.

Deadline for team entries is Monday 3rd June.
