BDBC planners granted formal planning consent for our proposed changing room extension project on 25 June. The project will provide a 60% increase to the footprint of the existing changing room facilities, and will include the provision of 4 No RFU compliant changing rooms with integral wc’s and showers thus facilitating concurrent use by different age groups/genders. Full funding for the project has been secured via successful applications for grant funding from BDBC Local Infrastructure Fund and Sports England.
It was our original intent to commence works this summer however, the delay in securing our planning consent as a result of the need to satisfy the local Tree Officer requirements, the committee has unanimously agreed that it would be more practical to construct the project in the April – August 2020 window, rather than disrupt at least the first 3 months of the forthcoming playing season for all sections. Our fundraising focus will now turn to securing monies to help us to upgrade and enhance facilities elsewhere in the clubhouse.
