Amazingstoke Did It Again!

The Under 9’s Rugby Team added to their medal collection.

Following on from their tournament success at Maidenhead against teams from Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, Basingstoke took on the rest of Hampshire and won. Despite the progressively worsening weather conditions which saw the Trojan pitches turn from green to brown 10 teams competed for the Under 9 Tournament title. The squad got off to a confidence building 4–1 win over Portsmouth and followed that by beating Vectis (I.O.W.) 3-0, and Trojans II 7-1 only coming unstuck against US Portsmouth 4-1. The semi final saw the squad working hard against the mud and strength of the host team Trojans I, eventually beating them 1-0.

The tough final match against Havant made Basingstoke dig deep into their reserves of stamina and brought out their forceful determination seeing them safely through to a match winning score of 2-1 to claim the tournament. This team is looking for sponsors, why, because we’re worth it!
